Workshops
Workshops:
We hold 2-3 workshops per school year where students in the Indian Education Grant Program come and learn about their American Indian heritage. We meet on a Saturday morning and have a native American speaker come talk to us about an aspect of the culture. The students and their families have an opportunity to ask questions and find out more about how Indians lived in the past and how they live now. after the presentation the students make a craft related to our topic which they can take home and enjoy. we also make fry bread as a snack for the students and their parents.
Some of the topics that we have covered in the past are: American Indian dances, fall harvesting, seasonal activities, food, games, music and different roles in the tribes.
