Snowcoming tickets are on sale now through Thursday, January 30th, 2025 at 11:59pm. The dance will be held on Saturday, February 1. The dress code is semi-formal, similar to Homecoming. Tickets can be found on PaySchools Events and are $20. Seniors are allowed to bring one guest. Guest forms are available at room 118.

Today is a ½ day of school.  You will follow a speed schedule, and attend all 6 classes with dismissal at 10:10am.  There will be no shuttles to Dakota today.  Students who normally travel to Dakota will report to the Media Center during those hours.

Holiday break begins at the end of the day today and we return to school on Thursday, January 2nd

Announcements – Tuesday, December 17

The bowling team competed in a meet against Stevenson at Sterling Lanes yesterday. The girls varsity bowled their way to a 29-1 victory. Boys varsity were also victorious against the Titans, 18-12.

Homework Help will be held today after school from 2:15-3:15 in the Media Center.

There will be a Fellowship of Christian Athletes meeting tomorrow at 6:30am in room 227.

Attention E Sports and Gamers, the meeting scheduled for Dec 19 has been cancelled.  Our next meeting is Thursday, January 9.  All are welcome!  Consider joining the Gamers Club and stop in on January 9.

If you have a talent you would like to showcase in the talent show, pick up an audition form outside room 247 or 213. Auditions will be held after school on January 9th. Forms are due by January 8th.

Announcements – Monday, December 16

The bowling team competed at the Cougar Classic on Saturday. Congratulations to Trenton Dillon for shooting a 2-game series of 458 which placed 2nd for the JV Boys division, and Alex Russell for shooting 408 which was good for 9th place. Both bowlers earned a place on the JV Boys All-Tournament team for the event.

Congratulations to the combined Chippewa Valley and Dakota CyberPatriot team who advanced to the State round this year in the Gold Tier.  CyberPatriot is a STEM program of the Air & Space Forces Association.  It was created to inspire K-12 students toward careers in cybersecurity or in other science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) disciplines critital to our nation’s future.  The team is competing for a chance to go to Nationals in the spring.  Good luck to the team members:  Garrett Kaminske, Preston Hang, Michael Meyering, Jayson Steenbergh and Metias Zora.

We have some exciting developments in the Senior All Night Party planning department!  This is the time we need your help!

  1.  We have been approved for our biggest fundraiser, the 3 Digit Lottery Raffle.  Tickets will be on sale now-January 31st.  We are looking for volunteers to sell tickets and for you to of course buy one or two if possible!  Information will be shared at our upcoming meeting and tickets will be available there!   If you are unable to make it to the meeting but you are willing to sell tickets, please message us on Facebook by looking for CVHS 2025 SANP.   
  2.  When is the meeting?  Wednesday, December 11th from 5:30-6:30 in the CVHS media center!  
  3.   We have a Bubba's restaurant night on Thursday, December 12th.  Let them know you are there to support CVHS SANP!  We get credit for purchasing gift cards as well, so stock up for the holidays!

There will be Student Advisory Committee meetings in the Community Room during all lunches today. That is me meeting with you to talk about our school. All students are welcome to come and be a part of this.

This is a reminder that by 2:20 all students must be out of the building unless in a supervised activity – in bad weather students may wait inside the A door vestibule, not in the athletic hallway. Winter athletes only should be in the athletic area. Today, all winter athletes will receive a new student ID card delivered to your first hour, indicating that they are a winter athlete and allowed in the athletic area after school. This will help our staff to enforce this policy.

We are midway through the second marking period. By the end of the day, all grades should be up-to-date in PowerSchool, so check them out and work on any areas of concern. Also, notice your attendance. An email will be sent to all students with 11 or more absences in any class. Remember that ending with more than 15 absences means attendance probation and the risk of credit loss. 

Your teachers are experts on coats and jackets. If they say that what you are wearing is a coat and that it needs to be put in your locker, then yes, that is the way it is.
