You are encouraged to take a picture of your ID to have it on your phone as a back-up in case you don't have the actual card for some reason.

  Any student interested in video production, should consider joining Chippewa's Film Club. The first meeting is today at 2:15 in room 114.

 Congratulations to our varsity volleyball team. They won the Fraser tournament this past Saturday, losing only 1 set all day.

 In other sports news, CVHS alum Tommy Shuster scored a touchdown for MSU on Saturday, and the extra point for that score was kicked by fellow alum Tarek Ahmetbasic.

Students please check your email - yesterday emails were sent to all new students inviting you to the new student lunch that will be held next Friday, September 20, in the media center where you will meet other new students, counselors, and support staff, and lunch will be provided. Another was sent to the students who will be participating in the Student Mental Health Summit.

 If you pre-ordered a cancer shirt and have not picked it up yet, please come to the Athletic office today so you can wear it to tonight’s game. Also, if you have not yet purchased a shirt, they are still for sale in the Athletic office. The Athletic office will open at 9 AM.

The E Sports team played their first fall pre season Smash match against Richmond High School this week. They dominated the match and got their first win, beating Richmond 3 to 1.  The fall Smash team is Devon Henry, RaSun Rich and Conner Tesch. There will be an informational meeting for ESports and Gamers Club after school on September 19 at the Ninth Grade Center Media Center.  Stop in if you are interested and have questions.

On September 11, 2001, 19 al-Qaeda terrorists hijacked four airliners and carried out suicide attacks against targets in the United States. Two of the planes were flown into the towers of the World Trade Center in New York City, a third plane hit the Pentagon just outside Washington, D.C., and the fourth plane crashed in a field in Pennsylvania. Over 3,000 people were killed during the attacks in New York City and Washington, D.C., including more than 400 police officers and firefighters.Please take a moment today to remember the heroes and victims of 9-11.

At the conclusion of the announcements, we will have our first Lockdown or Avoid, Deny, Defend Drill. This first drill will be a discussion within each classroom about how to avoid, deny, and defend in the event of an intruder. Deny is the most common response and involves barricading doors to deny entry. Lockdowns may be initiated through an announcement, including possibly an automated announcement initiated by the pulling of a blue emergency pull station, which are located throughout the building. Please begin those discussions now.

Students who drive to school are required to have a parking pass displayed in their vehicle.  If you have not already purchased one, parking passes are available on PaySchools Events – the link is on announcements Parking Pass.  Once purchased, you can pick up your parking pass in the main office.  Please remember you must park in the student lot only. And you may not park in another student's painted spot. 

Dual enrollment students - stop in the office and get your ID sticker if haven't. This allows you to leave the building. Students who are not able to leave due to transportation issues must report to the media center during dual enrollment time.

Today's behavior reminder is about the national anthem. We hope to see a big crowd in the Rowdy Red Zone for the football game tonight. When the national anthem is played at the start of the game, please stand and be silent showing respect.

Any student who was absent yesterday must get their picture taken today in the auditorium lobby - seniors first hour, juniors 2nd, and sophomores 3rd. This is not for picture re-takes. Those will happen on October 15. You must get a picture taken so that you can get a student ID which is required in the cafeteria, media center, after school events, and as requested. 

All dual enrollment students or other students scheduled to be off-campus during the day must stop in the main office to get a sticker for you ID card which will allow you to leave the building.

 Also for dual enrollment students - if you have dual enrollment in your schedule at the beginning or end of the day, you should leave the building if you have transportation. If you do not have transportation, you must report to the media center for that hour. You should NOT be wandering the building. If you have any questions about this, please contact your counselor. 

Congratulations to our varsity volleyball team which beat L'anse Creuse 3-0 yesterday. Come cheer them on at their next home game Thursday, September 12th.

If you are interested in being involved with our school musical, Cinderella, go to the 10/12 building choir room today after school for auditions.  If you missed the informational meeting, you can still come today.  Everyone is welcome and will have a spot in the show.  You can learn the audition material when you get there.  We hope to see you there.

WELCOME BACK!

Each day will begin at 7:10 with the Pledge of Allegiance followed by announcements. We expect that you will be respectful during the pledge and attentive to the announcements. We will share information, expectations, opportunities, and recognition. The announcements will also be posted on my Schoology page. On Wednesdays, they will only be posted and not shared over the intercom after the pledge, unless an exception is necessary. An email was sent to all students with information about how to join my Schoology Group to access announcements. You can join tomorrow during advisory time, if you have not already. 

Students travelling to CV9 or to Dakota will be allowed to leave class 4 minutes early in order to get to the shuttle or to make the walk to CV9. Except for the first hour shuttle, all others leave from the A doors. 

For those of you scheduled with Ms. Schroeder, her classes will be held in room 162 until further notice.
